Here is part two of our college hockey replay series from Merrimack men's hockey and their playoff run from last season. As you heard from the first installment, Merrimack defeated Boston College 1-0 in double OT to advance to TD Garden, while UMass Lowell punched their ticket with a 2-1 victory on the road against 4th ranked UConn.
The appearance against the River Hawks marked the first appearance on TD Garden ice for the Warriors in 12 years, and the first time Merrimack and UMass Lowell had ever met at the Garden.
At stake in this game is a trip to the Hockey East Championship game against Boston University, who in the first game of the day, edged Providence in overtime, 2-1.
